Crush crackers to replace breadcrumbs

I’ve found that saltines crushed in a plastic bag with a rolling pan make a great replacement for breadcrumbs. The result is a lighter, crisper crust, especially when breading fish fillets. I prefer the texture to that of breadcrumbs and now use crushed crackers in any recipe that calls for breadcrumbs.
